I wrecked my car a year ago and it should have been totaled I think. Ok here is what happened so far......?

-I have had alot of troubles witht he place that was supposed to fix my car. I had to take it back to the place 4 times because the completely messed things up like the paint job was way off on the parts they repainted. Pieces were falling off and all kinds off crazy things that were just ridiculous. So i drove it for a year and the whole time it was making a popping noise on the side I wrecked it which was the front drivers side. So im going to the beach here in a few days and I thought I better get it checked out. Until now I havent had the time or money to get it checked out and I thought it was just my brakes anyway (I know nothing about cars). I had my girlfriends brother who is a really good mechanic look at it and change my brakes. It turns out there is a bolt in there somwhere that broke and the people that fixed it glued it back together and stuck it in there. And that wasnt even what was making the popping noise so its hard to say what that noise is. I dont want to bring it back to the same place and I would like to sue the place I bought it since they risked my families life several times already with thier neglagence. Can I sue? And what should I do?
