Restored junker Car licensing?

-I have recently finished restoring an old car i bought cheap from a junk yard, however it didnt come with any license plates and the serial code on the engine block is no longer depictable. So can i just go down to the dmv and register the car or what do i need to do to legitimize the licensing??You'll have to apply for a salvage title and have the car inspected to be sure it's safe to operate. You need to talk to the people at your local department of motor vehicles to find out how it's done where you live.
