Why did the mechanic change the estimate when I requested a copy to be faxed?

-I'm having a huge issue with a scam

artist mechanic. I have a feeling he feels I'm going to sue him. I accidentally left him with the estimate he gave me. I requested a copy and he changed the estimates. How can I prove he changed it, if I don't have evidence?Not sure how, but you have to always carry a receipt before you allow the mechanic to do anything to your car. Many mechanics will do a lot of BS if they didn't write down the price before you signed it and allowed them to touch your car.



You can try to contact the Board of Motor Vehicle(google it up with the state you live in). You can file a complaint to them. A auto shop will be shut down if they were to reach 3 valid complaints.
