Driving instructor 2nd car insurance?

-want a 2nd car as a run around not to use for instruction. have 7 years no claims on work car and pay 拢450 a year yet mastercover say a 2nd car 3rd party only will be 拢2400 per year!. are there any insurance companies who cover nstruction and have a cheap 2nd car rate.Try onesure my partner has our main car with 6 years NCB on that policy and onesure offered him a discount on the second car because of his NCB on his other policy all he had to do was get proof of his NCB from his current insurer and send to the other company (that was the hardest part) trying to get them to understand that we knew we couldn't use it on a new policy just that we needed proof to get the discount we got he now has 1 year NCB on the second car
I would go to an insurance broker and explain your situation. Your present quote sounds a little crazy, though it does depend on what you are trying to insure as a run around - not a Porche or something ? Someone like Adrian Flux might be a good starting point.
There are no specific companies who deal with second cars but you must be doing something seriously wrong as my second car costs me about 拢200 a year to insure fully comp..
