-I'm so nervous right now. I have my driving test at 3:00p.m.
Yesterday I was practicing parallel park and reverse park.
I kept on messing up but towards the end I got the hang out of it.
I'm just scared I might get nervous and forget EVERYTHING!
What are ways for me to calm down and can you guys give me any
tips that might be useful.
-Thanks.relax already all the driving test is doing is reviewing the skills you have recently learned, so getting nervous is not going to help, Just put the thoughts of what is going on in your life on the back burner, convince yourself most of all you can do this, stand in fromt of a mirror and say I can pass this test, No problem, I have all the skills, I need to stay calm, cool and collected, and show I can take control of ths car and pass all my tests. The examiner is not going to try to trick you, so focus on what you are asked to do, if you are not sure ask a simple question, if you did not hear the question ask them calmly to repeat it. Ifs not rocket science ok? you know all this stuff so put the nerves on the back burner, listen carefully to the instructors words, and get through this, I did it so I know you can do it. hang in there.
Just make sure you remember to do these
- Look over your shoulder EVERY time before changing lanes
- Stop BEFORE the white line/cross walk
- COMPLETELY stop at a stop sign
- Go exactly the speed limit, they can minus points if your going way too slow
- Use your blinker for every lane change
- Right when you get in your car, PUT ON HER SEAT BELT and adjust your mirrors (even if they are already adjusted, pretend to adjust them again)
- When you reverse make sure you look over your shoulder
- As for parallel parking, make sure you turn on your blinker before backing in to the spot.
It's really easy, just stay calm. Let me know how it goes.
Everyone is always nervous about the parallel parking, but it's only worth either 3 or 5 points usually.... even if you screw it up, it isn't going to be a deal breaker.
From when my sons took their test, I can tell you this..... sometimes they set the parking brake to see how much you are paying attention to things and being aware of the car. When you get in to leave - check your side mirrors, your rear view mirror, and that *parking brake* to see if they set it.
Good luck - you'll do fine.
'Leventy-eight million guyz have been right where you are now, & not one has ever died from the pre-test jitters...not one !!
